“The girls really showed their SGS spirit today!” (Katya)
…..and you too Katya! You climbed with the safety emergency kit all the way! You are our guardian angel. Thank you from the heart.
We are so very proud of all our girls and chaperons for 100% participation in our Tepoztlan climb up. The girls did a great job supporting each other on the climb up and the climb down. We all made it to the top!
“Im so glad you didn’t let me quit” (Audrey’s Mom to Katya)
Our day began with a Spanish class at Encuentros after which we left for Tepoztlan, a town 17 Km away from Cuernavaca. A steep climb up to the pyramid was the day’s challenge.
At noon we arrived in Tepoztlan……
….had lunch and started the climb.
…and made it to the top!
We were greeted by coatis….many of them!
Our climb down.
Today was a celebration day in Tepoztlan. It was the last day of the Carnival Season. There was a huge fair with food stalls everywhere, but first, we made it to the ice cream shop.
We saw the Chinelos procession and dance.
Audrey and Grace went for a cricket quesadilla!
……regular Mexican food seemed more delicious.
Had a little laugh on the way to our meeting point.
We gathered at the entrance of Tepoztlan’s Cathedral gate and discovered it has mural made of seeds.
We headed back enjoying the gift of a gorgeous sunset.
